About This Project
The Enterprise Network Redesign Project for Al Ahliya Private School, Sharjah UAE, involved the planning, implementation, and optimization of a modern campus network infrastructure to support growing educational requirements and high-density user connectivity. The redesigned network architecture introduced a structured VLAN-based environment with separate network segments for different user groups, including Admin (Staff), Ahliya_STD (Students), and Ahliya_Tec (Technical Services). This segmentation improved security, performance, and network management by isolating critical resources and controlling user access. The project included the configuration and deployment of Cisco switches, Cisco wireless access points, and wireless controllers to provide reliable wired and wireless connectivity across the campus. A Sophos Firewall was implemented for advanced security, traffic filtering, restricted network access, and internet policy management. A MikroTik Hotspot solution was configured for controlled guest/student wireless access and authentication management. The network was designed and optimized to support more than 1,500 students, staff members, online learning platforms, examination systems, and daily school operations while ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.
